In today's housing market jatoba is the preferred choice of solid hardwood flooring. At a rating of 2350 on the Janka scale compared to that of 1450 for Hard Maple, Jatoba is one of most durable species of hardwood available on the world market.
Unlike other floor covering material solid hardwood flooring brings up the value of a home. Jatoba in particular is one of the most sought out species of flooring. Purchasing good quality Jatoba that is a Select & Better or Clear grade can cost up to $7.00 per sq. foot. HWood Flooring Co. supplies prefinished solid jatoba hardwood flooring at $4.85 CDN per sq foot. The flooring comes with an average length of 3.5 feet with pieces up to 7 feet long. This in its self is a bargain, BUT that's still not $4.50 per sq. foot.

Once the installer has measured and assessed the job site we are able to identify an installation cost and the amount of sq. feet available that can be used for installing 1, 2, and 3 foot long material at $3.65 per sq. foot. The flooring is a Select & Better grade that is milled and prefinished the same as our regular Jatoba, with an 8 coat aluminum oxide prefinish. You will not have colour variation between them, so you can install in bedrooms and areas that do not require 4,5,6,7 foot long material while maintaining one clean uniform look, and averaging down the price.
